About the hall:

South Walsham Village Hall offers a unique venue for your wedding celebrations. It is situated in the Norfolk countryside yet easily accessible from Norwich.

With its traditional dance floor, easy access to the adjoining playing field/patio where a marquee can be erected on the 6 acres of land beside the hall, and a recently refurbished children’s play area.

The car park directly in front of the hall has spaces for around 25 cars and the newly re-surfaced rear car park has space for a further 40 cars.

We regret that we do not currently have a licence for marriages.

The Hall Facilities:

The hall can seat up to 120 people (depending on how tables are arranged) and the kitchen is ideal for the preparation of the wedding breakfast.

We have an alcohol and entertainments licence, and a PA system for speeches.

For the evening entertainment we have a small stage to provide the ideal setting for a band or disco. Our music/alcohol licence covers us until midnight.

The Bar:

We have a fully stocked licensed bar where we offer at least 1 real ale, 2 lagers and a pale ale on tap. We also stock a range of Gins along with other spirits. We trade with Woodfordes brewery but are able to source other beers on request. This would be an extra cost to you the client if you specified a particular ale.


We are able to source any Wine/Champagne or Prosecco for the wedding breakfast only alcohol supplied by us may be consumed on the premises.

Corkage will be charged on any alcohol not supplied by us.


The children at the wedding can use the public playing field and newly refurbished play area.

Disclaimer of Liability

The South Walsham Village Hall disclaims any liability for loss, damage, theft or injury to any person or their property when using the hall and / or its grounds and / or its car park beyond any statutory responsibility.

Wedding Package:

We offer a one-price hire package from Friday evening through to Sunday midday with all the facilities included – white china crockery, cutlery, and fully equipped kitchen with range cooker – which is very popular as it gives plenty of preparation and clearing-up time.

There is a damage deposit of £200 which is fully returnable provided no extra cleaning costs/damage or crockery breakages are incurred.

Total cost for the package £949.00

Should the hall be left as it was found on the Friday night the damage/cleaning deposit (currently £200) would be returned within 10 working days of the hire period.

Meaning the total hire charge for your wedding would be £749.00.

Additional Information:

Only alcohol supplied by us can be served at the hall if you decide to have a bar. 

Corkage will be charged at £5 per bottle.

All tables and chairs must be put back to where they were found prior to the hire and the floors swept and hovered using the equipment provided in the cupboard.  


No sellotape on the walls or drawing pins in any door frames etc.
